    In 1.9.4 you can selectively disable the notifications shown on screen, so you could remove the messages shown on startup by adding

    notification_show_remap_load = "false" notification_show_config_override_load = "false" notification_show_autoconfig = "false" notification_show_set_initial_disk = "false"

    to /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg.

    my two cents. Work on ARKOS which uses full version of Retroach...

    Hi all, I tried many ways to Save and have persistent HotKey binds. AN dthe only way I was able to get it persistent, even after retroarch reboots and new confirg saves, over rides is to add the values on the retroarch.cfg. and for good measure I also pasted my values in CORE and Folder Remaps and core cfg. IE NES.cfg and Nestopia.cfg (remaps on like nes.rmp) I think that last part is overkill,, but I tried everithing and this is now working so overkill made it.
    here are my confiig for my Ambernic rg351p running ARKOS?

    input_hold_fast_forward_axis = "23"
    input_hold_slowmotion_axis = "24"
    input_rewind = "26"
    input_save_state = "20"
    input_state_slot_decrease = "h0left"
    input_state_slot_increase = "h0right"
    input_shader_prev = "h0down"
    input_shader_next = "h0up"

    Hope it helps. The H0 values are for the left D-pad. That took a while to figure out.

    If the Pi has internet access, you can use wget on RetroPie's command line to download files directly to the sd card. See here for one of the countless wget guides on the web.

    To go to the command line, pressF4 in Emulation Station. To go back to Emulation Station, enter exitor press Ctrl+d.

    You can write the RetroPie image directly to the drive and boot from it - assuming your PI has USB boot enabled. If USB boot is not enabled, then you'll need a sdcard to run Raspberry Pi OS and enable it from raspi-config.

    You can do that, but you'll need to script it using from the onstart runcommand script.

    @mitu deleting the file didn't change how CEA-5 acts (or any 1080P option), but it did seem to clear up the default video mode from launching in a small window.

    Even in a PC you'll need a decent processor, at least if you want accurate emulation. Until someone finds a miraculous optimization shortcut in KI's hardware emulation, I'd say yes, it's currently impossible in this hardware.

    a hacked original xbox could run it pretty well on a humble pentium 3:

    ...because there's an x86 dynarec which helped massively. however, MAME on ARM does not have such a luxury, which I don't see changing.

    @shavecat When you enable the port 1 multitap, you have to restart the emulator to have it take effect. Probably the best thing to do is to save a game options file with multitap mode set to "port 1 only" so that that particular game always loads with the multitap on.

    This is in Quick Menu -> Options -> Manage Core Options

    Try deleting the game options file if there's already one there.

    So, to summarize:

    Start your game Go into the RetroArch menu's Quick Menu -> Options -> Manage Core Options Delete the game options file, if there is already one Go back to Quick Menu -> Options Set Multitap mode to "Enable on Port 1 Only" I also Disabled "Force Analog Mode on Restart" for both player 1 and player 2 (not sure if this matters; I just wanted to avoid the pop-up message when the game loaded) Go to Manage Core Options again and save the game options file Exit the emulator as you usually would (Select + Start?) Re-enter the game

    Note that the Twisted Metal games only allow more than 2 players in deathmatch mode. Tournament mode is limited to 2 players max. Let me know if you have any issues.

    @jamrom2 So, I'm not sure how to wipe static IPs from the system. It keeps saying the IP is unknown, as it can't connect.

    Game & Watch games do not need a BIOS file. You just need to copy the files to the right folder and make sure they're correctly named - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Game-%26-Watch/.

    So I was able to make this work by simply unplugging the mouse from the pi, leaving the controller settings in retroarch for fceumm set to auto NOT zapper, and then under settings change zapper mode to mouse.

    My wminputA file is as follows:

    #IR for mouse REL - fps style
    #Plugin.ir_fps.X = REL_X
    #Plugin.ir_fps.Y = REL_Y

    #ir_ptr
    Plugin.ir_ptr.X = ~ABS_X
    Plugin.ir_ptr.Y = ~ABS_Y

    #custom buttons
    Wiimote.A = BTN_RIGHT
    Wiimote.B = BTN_LEFT
    Wiimote.Up = KEY_UP
    Wiimote.Down = KEY_DOWN
    Wiimote.Left = KEY_LEFT
    Wiimote.Right = KEY_RIGHT
    Wiimote.Minus = KEY_ESC
    Wiimote.Plus = KEY_ENTER
    Wiimote.Home = KEY_LEFTALT

    Wiimote.1 = KEY_LEFTCTRL
    Wiimote.2 = KEY_SPACE

    Nunchuk.C = KEY_C
    Nunchuk.Z = KEY_Z

    #plugin for nunchuk stick
    Plugin.nunchuk_kb.Up = KEY_W
    Plugin.nunchuk_kb.Down = KEY_S
    Plugin.nunchuk_kb.Left = KEY_A
    Plugin.nunchuk_kb.Right = KEY_D

    Plugin.led.Led1 = 1

    #EOF

    #IR for mouse REL - fps style
    #Plugin.ir_fps.X = REL_X
    #Plugin.ir_fps.Y = REL_Y

    works as a mouse in zapper games BUT not even close to as well as

    #ir_ptr
    Plugin.ir_ptr.X = ~ABS_X
    Plugin.ir_ptr.Y = ~ABS_Y

    so I'd use the ir_prt not ir_fps mapping.

    I've found that if you forget to unplug your mouse before you start the game you can simply unplug it and the wiimote will take over immediately as the mouse.

    If using a wireless mouse you must unplug the dongle not just turn the power off to the mouse. This could be problematic for wireless keyboard/mouse combos as you have to unplug the dongle and lose both keyboard and ouse function.

    So far I havent been able to get the hot keys to work in game (even thought they work fine in emulationstation) to exit the game and have to use the keyboard for that unless you have a gamepad installed (which doesnt interfere with the wiimote as a mouse as a zapper) then you can use the game pad to exit the game.
