There is a command line flag but it isn't exposed in the RetroPie-setup script -mame_img and -console_img These accept an ordered list of image preferences which RetroPie-setup sets to -mame_img="t,m,s" and -console_img="b" So the order is Title, Marquee, Snap for mame. You can exit EmulationStation and run this from the command line with something like this but cd to the rom folder you want to scrape.

    cd ~/RetroPie/roms/mame /opt/retropie/supplementary/scraper/scraper -mame -mame_img="s,t,m"

More detail about all the flags is at

    /opt/retropie/supplementary/scraper/scraper -h

@fsd2s if you want to change it to something different just do this, when you boot a game press f7 i believe after the game starts. Then every key you press gives you a key code. Just change it to another key using its key code.

@brettsalyer it looks like you have everything running!?! Do you mind sharing with us if you found the issue? Or did just reinstalling the roms to the USB card fix the problem? Thanks

@edmaul69 same here. Android phone, firefox on linux and firefox on windows 7.

edit: noticed this problem only on mobiles or on desktops when the browser window isn't maximized. In the image below you can see I have unread topics on the left, but there's no number indicating how many of them.

@herb_fargus yeah i have been collecting a list of games to start buying. I like the thought of being able to use my disc drives on my pi. Otherwise i have two dvd drives doing nothing. I only have 3 games at the moment i can use. Two for dos and one for windows 3.1. Need more games. :) unfortunately the ultimate doom trilogy disk does not work in dos so i have to buy those games all seperate. I have some games on floppy i have installed but i want to buy the cd versions so i can use the discs. Sounds crazy i know, but when i do a post of my modded pi in the next couple week (waiting on post from china) you will understand why. I need to find some mac os games on cd that dont require a power pc. (Riven wont run because of it.)

Asking for help without even trying to look this up or understanding what this means, results in more work for others, even if some awesome members already put work into a clear explanation, is bad (I guess)... Looking your "problem" up in the docuentations/wikis/github pages (or even on google) would have given you the right answer...

    However:
This isn't an error... It just means that the scraper could not found the name of the rom (or in this case the hash of it) in the metadata/image database! This basicly means that there is no metadata/image for this game.
You might be able to "solve" this by using another database

    Now, 2 questions:

Did you configure your joysticks on emulationstation? Paste here the output of this command: ls /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/

@epd For the most part, yes. You need to add your ROMs, and set up your controllers, but other than that, should be good to go!

@dirthurts hit the start button in ES to bring up the settings and go into UI settings and see if you have Parse Gamelists Only turned on. If so, turn it off. That setting hides any game that is not scraped.

Also if you are having scraping issues, you can go in and delete the gamelist.xml for snes and rescrape that system, that should fix up your errors.

    Hi All,
So I figured it out. I realized I needed to enable SSH on the RetroPie as looking at further documentation that it is disabled by default. Once I did that I had no problem.

    Thanks,

So an update, the emulator is snes9x2002. I tried with 2005 and 2010, both of which performed significantly worse.

What is the best emulator for a Pi B with 256mb. I assume it's snes9x2002 ? If that won't run StarWing then I assume nothing will. Regardless, what's the best for just standard Mario games etc. I tried both and 2010 and 2002 work fine with those simple sprite games.
