Done and I also updated the Comicbook Theme but still crashes
At this point I think I just have to let go of this Theme :)

@BuZz OK thanks, that got me back to the defaults.

After doing that the menu still wasn't responding so I deleted the emulationstation input configurations. Now it seems to be working better.

Try a different HDMI cable, if you have one.

My test Ubuntu 22.04 system was also upgrade. Since 22.04 sets Wayland as default display server, you may be missing some libraries needed for CSD. Try installing the libdecor-0-plugin-1-cairo package and see if - when using Wayland - you get the same error when starting a SDL2 application (i.e. EmulationStation or gnome-terminal).

You could remap or remove the input_load_state_btn value in your controller's autoconfig file at /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig/[DEVICE_NAME].cfg

@mitu I found solution, i just deleted previous settings and i mapped to Home button to exit. You can close this topic.

Yes, looks like it is happening again. Just ignore it for the time being and continue with the rest of the installation.

The location of the file is explained in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroAchievements/ - it's in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg. The same file can be accessed over file shares at \\retropie\configs\all\retroarch.cfg if you wish to edit it from a PC.

and I'll give fbneo a go as well - seems like it may have other advantages, although mame seems to run fine so far on a raspberry pi 3

@jamietuley Distorted audio is a typical symptom of your device being too slow to emulate a game, which might happen if your device is underpowered for some reason (bad power supply, too many connected devices, ...), resulting in your cpu being underclocked. Most of the time, it's simply that your device is too slow though, and tbh i'm not convinced a pi3 can handle vector games at a high resolution.

Swapped the connection between the USB boards, and that worked. Must not have been in parallel config.

Didn't realize that each USB port would have a priority, I thought it was assigned from Emulation Station. Moved the USB cords around, and now I'm back up and running.

What type of Amiga ROMs are you using? If you're using WHDLoad packages you should just be able to load them like any other ROM (eg direct from the ROM list).

The only time I got a black screen was because I'd messed up the kickstarts - do you have the correct ones?

You go into the overrides menu and delete the override.

I suppose this option messes up the onfigurations file for other emulators. Could it be the case?

If you saved the override just for that system, it will not affect the other systems/cores. You may have changed a global option (like the video driver) and saved the configuration.

If you're using a gamepad, then you don't have to.

You version of RetroPie is old and the PS1 emulator doesn't support .chd files. You should install the latest version (from https://retropie.org.uk/download) to have .chd support or you can also copy the games in a format understood by your version (.iso or .cue/.bin disc images).
