@harmeetsingh0013 You've bumped again a very old topic, even though I asked you not to. Also, per the forum rules - don't ask for ROMs. Come back when want to respect the forum's rules.

@mitu said in Multiple Default Emulator:

You can probably automate some stuff. The ROM-Emulator association is stored in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulators.cfg. If you already configured some games to start with specific emulators, then you already have some entries there so you can see how its format and replicate it for other games.

thanks! that did the trick :)

i will now try and get all the names of each system and add that into the list!

will try and figure out an easy way to do this now ;P since i got close to 5k roms lol

@shonee That SD card is probably set up in a way that nobody can possibly predict and therefore support cannot be offered according to the guidelines shown in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
Only the creator can help you with it.

The best thing to do is install retropie from the official image and follow the first install guide. All your controllers will be autodetected.

      @buzz

      My was setup:

      Raspberry pi 4 model B Rev1.2 (Stock Clocks) Raspberry Pi4 Argonone Case Retropie 4.6.8 43' 1080p TV 8bitdo controller Using 5ghz Wifi

Only occurs on stuff like SNES, NES, and similar 2D platforms, but as i mentioned before using a custom aspect ratio with 1 less pixel on Y & X axis than core config seemed to fix it. Bilinear Filtering, and Interger-scale also fix the tearing aswell not sure if there are other fixes though. V sync is on any everything.

The picture doesn't show the error start (though it may be off-screen), but the init not found message means the kernel doesn't have access to the sdcard's files.
Try to backup your image, then use 7Zip to read the .img file, you may be able to recover some data.

I’ve just registered to say I love this! I’m currently building my long awaited man cave and would love one of these in it!!

I’m a complete beginner when it comes to raspberry pi etc but am pretty handy with the mechanics/electrical side of things.

An I ask what games you have?

      Many thanks!

Post the Kodi log file from $HOME/.kodi/temp/kodi.log to pastebin.com, maybe we can spot the error.
Also, please fill in the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

The main folders you want to back up are:

/home/pi/RetroPie (ROMs, BIOS files, splash screens) /opt/retropie/configs (configs for RetroArch, EmulationStation, also your scraped game library) /etc/emulationstation(custom themes as well as the systems ES has access to)

The RetroPie documentation has info on how to copy files. WinSCP or Filezilla are probably the easiest programs to use.

Copy those over from the 3B to the 4, and you should be fine. Note: after you flash the image onto your RPi4, you'll need to boot up with it for RetroPie to finish installing, then you can turn it off and start copying.

@mitu I went back to my build and renamed both the image folder and gamelist file to let it rebuild new ones

I used both sources, but screenscraper seemed to work a lot better. It read the games, many were missing descriptions, but it read them all. Seems like its working now. I'll do the same for the Atari ST files and patch them all up manually so they have descriptions and images if missing any.

Thanks for the help, I'll say it's working...not optimally, but working. Lol.

Now...if you can tell me why the hell my Budgie keeps ripping his feathers out... I'll be good to go. Lol

My favorite for all games is crt-pi, I love the look that the scanlines give. It looks good with everything from psx, to gba, to snes, to arcade.

It's a pity it doesn't work, it was the ideal steering wheel for an outrun-based arcade, because of the Ferrari logo theme and the license :(

@rostomzer It should work, but if you're updating RetroPie, it will get overwritten and you'll get back the previous version.

A 32Gb card would be more than enough for RetroPie + OS, if you intend to keep your games/ROMs (plus scraped artwork) on an external USB disc.
