Ok so I hooked the pi up to a wired connection this morning. I continued my testing with Fable and was able to play this morning for about an hour with no problems even with Netflix going in another room.

Later tonight I'm going to change the moonlight launcher script I wrote to see how it runs at a full 60fps rather than the 30fps I started testing at.

Over all I'm very impressed with it.

Yup confirmed, it was rumble. After turning off rumble in game's option no more issue.

I have sorted it, anyone else with the same problem needs to do the following:

sudo nano /boot/config.txt
And scroll down to the bottom. If you see a line that says: dtparam=audio=on

Disable it by putting a # in front.
Then add:
dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus
on the next line. Save the file.

Next create /etc/asound.conf with the following content:

pcm.!default {
type hw card 0
}
ctl.!default {
type hw card 0
}

Then go to: /home/pi/.reicast/emulators.cfg and change it to this:

reicast-audio-alsa = "CON:/opt/retropie/emulators/reicast/bin/reicast.sh alsa %ROM%"
default = "reicast-audio-alsa"
reicast-audio-oss = "CON:/opt/retropie/emulators/reicast/bin/reicast.sh oss %ROM%"

Save and reboot and enjoy!

Also has anyone managed to get reicast to change to 16:9 aspect ratios? maybe i'll start a new topic for this.

Why didn't you install RetroPie on the PiDrive? All you need to do is install BerryBoot on the SD card, add the retropie image to the USB drive and install it via BerryBoot.

@edmaul69 I was actually not even born when the SNES came out, so I never had one before. I was also very surprised to see there were 2 versions. I do love the old retro gaming machines a lot more then the new ones!

Now only if the mp3 compression worked... Would sure make my Sega CD library smaller.

@denisuu That's on an RPi 2 and I'm assuming that going to an RPi 3 would be an increase, but not a ton of difference. I've been curious about AOE vanilla though.

Thoughts on resources running it on Raspbian vs Retropie?

I didn't map the X360 guitar controller before, because it was already working in EmulationStation and in Moonlight as well. I could navigate all the menus and select my games.

Now I did map my guitar controller and launched the game, but the problem persists. It seems, more and more, that this is a Phase Shift issue.

I was able to beat the guy without switching the controllers, so by the time I read this it was too late, but it may come in handy if I decide to do another run through!

Hi just wondering with the LED ring style button did you managed to get it to work with the powerblock only lighting up the ring when latched on?

@Shay You may want to check the link in my signature. I just made a quick video about this right before Christmas. I am at work right now so everything is blocked but the Enable HD graphincs for N64 video should help you out.

lr-mess won't work on Raspbian due to old gcc so we don't have a working mess currently for Raspbian.
