@blize in linapple if you press f1 it tells you what all the f keys do. After you start with say disk one you can load in disk 2 with i believe f3 and f4 for the two drives and one of the keys lets you swap them too. F2 may be how you load it or it resets. I forget.

@dankcushions thanks. I didn't think about the R/L buttons on those SNES controllers.

I think the first step would be to test if I can capture audio natively before I pass it through to GPIO.

I've narrowed it down to wanting to use the alsa sound driver. I want to be able to hear the sound from my speakers while it's being captured which is looking like I'll need to use a loopback device. Eg snd-aloop

I'll update this post when I have more details but I've gotten so far as sorting dependencies and just need the proper configs for /etc/.asound.conf

@herb_fargus I know this is an old post, but thanks for posting this hefty tidbit on emulator speed vs accuracy. It was very educational and an enjoyable read.

@used2berx The Castlevania: The Holy Relics homebrew is pretty good, if you enjoyed the original, then you'll certainly like this one.

If it also happens on Kega Fusion, it's going to happen on real hardware.

If it's excluve to PicoDrive, try updating the core because there has been some major improvement in 32X emulation (exclusive to the core, not the base code).

Else, you'll have to live with it because there's no other portable open source 32X emulator (until it gets fixed).

@drake999 Just to add, if you don't want to install the full desktop environment the @zerojay retropie-extra repo allows chromium and iceweasel / firefox to be installed with just the matchbox window manger. This then appears in the PORTS section.

@h00srdady said in How many of you found out about RetroPie because you couldn't buy the NES Classic?:

@camck Android dropped the headphone jack before Apple did with the Le 2/ Le 2 Pro, etc. ;)

Moto Z did this too, but if you plug the gaming controller module, there's a headphone jack on it

IMO one of the best hacks out there is Rockman 4 Minus Infinity. It's hard as hell, even by Megaman standards (I had to save-state literally every 5 seconds just to get through it), but look past the difficulty and you'll get one of the best hacks I can think of.

@hyruleslink I just got lr-gw up and running myself and was thinking the same thing. A little googling and I found these. Honestly, I was hoping one of the scrapers had them already. I just finished missing artwork and metadata for Famicom Disk System and I’m really not looking forward to doing all that again by hand.

I am using RetroPie on a non Pi mashine.
Is there an easy way to implement the Beetle HW release to Retropie?

Seriously though, I hope it's more action and less dialogue boxes. It's funny because I just rewatched this AVGN episode about Mega-man the other day and it reminded me of how much filler they added to slow down the action.

By the time I parted everything out, I actually saved a few bucks buying the whole thing together.. for someone who has never played with Linux, Pi, or anything else, it made it not so scary. Until this, I had zero exposure to any of this technology. I first bought an Arduino a few years ago, cheap on Amazon. It was a Chinese knock off, but again, having never used it before, no programing background, and not sure I was going to stick with it, it was a great way to get started.. Now that I have some experience under my belt, my next purchase will most likely be just the Pi for my next project.. whatever that may be..

Looks very cool. Congrats on hitting your funding goal. You might get even more backers if you add stretch goals.
