@thebarry1394 Thanks. It looks like somebody already submitted a request to be included in the upstream xpad project - https://github.com/paroj/xpad/pull/125 - so hopefully in the future it will be easily recognized, without manual patching.

@CursedLemon Its going to vary by game, some games can run playable in 720p with the right emulator. But some games, like the zelda games, are not going to render above the n64's native res. You may get better performance overclocking the gpu but it wont effect the resolution.

I'll take a look at what mine does with the framebuffer and get back.

@Eyeball_36 I get something similar sometimes with n64 games. I'm not sure what was causing it but I have suspected the resolution changing from my default settings to the rom defined settings when launching a rom has something to do with it.

Are the videos forcing the resolution to change? Also have you tried enabling/disabling dismpmax?

The specific emulator I'm having trouble with is mupen64plus-glide64
the lr-mupen64plus works fine but looks awful and won't load high res textures. The mupen64plus-glide64 emulator worked great until I had to reinstall everything for other reasons. No system hardware has changed since I've started this.

Well... this seems to be the temporary fix... finally! Works good for me on the latest build. Just do what the user AnalogHero recommends at the bottom of the thread and it will load as it should.

Old thread, but this is what i did.
Once the usb is setup and all files have copied move the scraper files to the retropie-mount folder on the USB.

mv ~/.emulationstation/downloaded_images /media/usb/retropie-mount/ mv ~/.emulationstation/gamelists /media/usb/retropie-mount/

Since retropie automounts the items in the retropie-mount dir into the ~/RetroPie/ dir we can create symlinks to point the that ~/RetroPie/ and no need to change the sources in the files.

ln -s ~/RetroPie/downloaded_images/ ~/.emulationstation/downloaded_images ln -s ~/RetroPie/gamelists/ ~/.emulationstation/gamelists

Following up - I did a reinstall of the Xpad driver (removed and then installed) and it fixed my triggers, too.

Yes, only the 1st player has access to Hotkeys.

Disable the Wifi connection or get a BT USB adapter - what RPI Model are you using ?

Its a Pi3 B+, I'll try and disable WiFi and see what happens.

Most likely yes. The procedure you performed is not guaranteed to recover another system.

If so is the main partition of retropie a regular EXT3? So I may browse and copy all of my files?

It's an Ext4 partition - should be accessible also as Ext3, but I advise using a Linux installation to try and mount it.
