Like what BuZz said, you need to give us more information so we can help:
    https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

    Also, please read this document:
    https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Dreamcast/#controls

You probably just need to edit your controller's configuration file for Reicast/Dreamcast.

@onsmike Yes, it seems a keyboard is needed. That's what "solved" the problem for me when I tried it last night at any rate. It's a bit annoying, but it works on the roms I tried.

@gunpadawan Now it's throwing this error:

    pi@retropie:~/gunconf $ python setup.py install
    running install
error: can't create or remove files in install directory

The following error occurred while trying to add or remove files in the
    installation directory:

    [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/test-easy-install-1018.write-test'

The installation directory you specified (via --install-dir, --prefix, or
    the distutils default setting) was:

    /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/

Perhaps your account does not have write access to this directory? If the
installation directory is a system-owned directory, you may need to sign in
as the administrator or "root" account. If you do not have administrative
access to this machine, you may wish to choose a different installation
directory, preferably one that is listed in your PYTHONPATH environment
    variable.

For information on other options, you may wish to consult the
    documentation at:

    https://pythonhosted.org/setuptools/easy_install.html

Please make the appropriate changes for your system and try again.

First, I want to finish my theme, and the art upload, once done... I don't know.

Yes it was set to background. I'm guessing it should be "default"? I've set the config to default and rebooted. Will run upstairs to check that the controller still works!

    Thanks!

AlexMurphy is right, check out that link. It very well could be (as the link states) that your power supply isn't providing enough current. Also, if you are running a pi 3, if my memory serves me, wifi is built in. You not giving us any base information to work with makes things difficult to help.

Also, if a better power supply doesn't work, I'm guessing that it's a hardware issue, not software, in which case, this is probably the wrong place to ask.

That's fine. This is a single use device. If I can get the PS3 controller working that's all that matters. I was just pointing out my phone to say the dongle is installed and working.

I never thought to remove the retropie driver and pair first with the regular bluetooth stack and then re-enable. I will try that.

yep, i have tried a few files and all are fine regardless of format. i have found though that the filename of the bin/iso as referenced in the .cue often still has (Japan) etc whereas it has been removed in the filename so they needed to be sorted, although obviously i had tried that early on to no avail.

you should be ok, as i said i am on a mac too and i have been using emulators since the days of mame .29, as well as pretty much every system out there, i have never had to use any other apps to decompress files.

bear in mind though, that mame roms should be left as zipped files, there is no need to unzip them. it may be that in the past you have got roms from an 'unmerged' set where if you don't have the parent rom with all the relevant files in it any variations wont run.

    Hi,

    es_systems.cfg is in /etc/emulationstation/.

You can swap discs with your defined swap disc hotkey. Look in input settings in retroarch gui or in the configuration editor:

    # Toggles eject for disks. Used for multiple-disk content. input_disk_eject_toggle = # Cycles through disk images. Use after ejecting. # Complete by toggling eject again. input_disk_next =

Put your prefered button after the = . Ingame press your hotkey button and your button eject and swap discs.

Thank you for the reply. I'm using the Pi supply.

The controller works on the pc for my emulators great. So not sure what the issue is here.

I have ordered a snes one from PiHut now. See how that goes.

Once again thanks for the reply.

@spud11 after loging in through ssh, you can use "du -sh <directory>" to check the size of the directory and can also use "ls <directory>" to see all the files that are in <directory>

you need to fix /etc/fstab so it mounts your 1TB drive in the same location. Since your 4 gig stick is gone, anything that gets put into the folder is going to your 8 gig sd card and thus filling up the free space

If your googling skills are good, you can find those eboots already made and save you some time. Their extension is .PBP .
You need to uncompress .ECM files with its uncompressor, but really, I found .PBP files to be zero hassle, but not all games have been compressed to that format.

My notes to myself were not very clear :) I got the same error I noted when I tried to start SNESDev manually ...

I have to rem out the line adapter_version="1x" in /etc/snesdev.cfg (changing the line to the correct version of the board 1x, was not enough)

Once I did that I was able to launch SNESdev manually and validate js0 and js1
