@blkhwks19 Got my sound back! Did a whole bunch of reserach and checked into some config.txt options and tried adding:

hdmi_drive=2

... and it seems to work now! Tried in my other tvs and back in this one and everything seems to work. Figured I'd report in case anyone else has spent the time and effort following my long attempt at fixing this =]

We don't support 3rd party images - ask the authors of the image about any issues. Use the image from retropie.org.uk/download and we'll be able to provide support.

Webdav is not the same as CIFS, so the answer would be no. I'd advise against opening your local ROM folder to the internet. If you want to take your Pi on the go, then copy some ROMs locally and use that.

The rom folders are copied verbatim and there's no filtering done, so it will copy anything there, including any artwork scraped.

RetroPie doesn't build its own Linux kernel, it uses what Raspberry Pi OS provides. Raspberry Pi OS uses currently the 5.4.x LTS kernel branch, but there's work to upgrade to the next LTS kernel version - 5.10.

@diptwit there is no desktop in retropie. You are not installing retropie. Follow the guide.

@mortalwombat I keep an SSD plugged into my case and it just sits under the TV so you can't see anything for the most part.

If you really want an all-in-one solution, Argon just released a new case that holds an M.2 SSD inside.

It's meant to be running in Bash - could work with other shells, but it's untested. If you don't have the file, then make sure you've configured autostart and enabled EmulationStation on boot.

@dankcushions yes! I did the change when I found this new emulator was ported to libretro. At the end I found that the main problem in my lr-genesis-plus-gx performance is the bilinear filter. If I turn it off it's working 58-60 fps with very good sound quality. So as I see it maybe I overloaded my raspberry pi 3B too much, if I'm correct is definitely something to have in mind if you dont have a rpi3B+ or rpi4. SegaCD is working fine too now!

@nemo93 Technically neither have I. It runs as a CD32 game if you rename the .CUE file. I've been running it like this for a while but 3.3 (or maybe an earlier version) seems to have broken it,

I'll wait to see what 3.4 brings.

I might be that. I used that specific version of mame because I already had some roms from the appropiate romset.

@djmoss haha. Happens to us all - I often leave files lying around called username@server when I fail to use scpcorrectly (missing : on the end).

Finding the root folder in /etc is a nice festive surprise :-)

@iandaemon one option might be to use one of these atari flashback joysticks. Haven't tested myself but it supports the extra buttons youd need
