    @BiZzAr721 @darknior

I know, such a shame not to integrate it

I think it would be easily possible of the official ones from chronocrash would take part and ...

i don't understand the Retropie Team

... would support a legal "RetroPie branch". I think our moderators are aware of rising support that is needed for this and indeed I can't support it because if something will fail (hardware support or whatever) on our Raspberry we are stuck and the only one who can provide better support ( @zanac ) is missing since end of 2018. Moreover OpenBOR is totally underated between other platforms so there is less awareness - but this is only my opinion.

Can we update our OpenBOR from the last source code like any emulator from Retropie ?

Yes with the scriptmodule but therefore I need to patch the files and upload them to my git. So we have a 6512-dev from Oct 2018 as latetst version on our Pie.
I will make a new patch if the 6512 is out of dev state.

Sorry for the stupid question but i break my right hand in January and stop a lot to work on computer :(

Oh dear ... hope you are well. But take this is chance work on your left hand. It's not a problem to even write with the left hand. Just a bit of training ;)
And... then you can also get in touch with 8bit mashines like, Commodore, Sinclair, Amstrad because you only need direction and one button -> Flightstick joypad ;)

@mitu said in Removed emulationstation-dev help:

@paffley Just install Emulationstation (the regular package) from the core packages section.

    Thanks @mitu

I installed a fresh ES from binary then had to re-add es_systems.cfg content from an old backup I had (modified).

All working now thank you! keep up the super work!

Looks like a permissions problem or a funky named controller that's not saved or possibly other problems (disk full ?) that prevent Emulationstation to save the controller configuration.
My advice is to start with a clean image and work from there - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/.

Two little updates now that I have the new Pi in my build.

No more lagging at all that I can discern. Whether the extra0.2GHz made the difference or there is another hardware issue with the other Pi is still unknown.

I figured out the undervolt issue, and it's something I think should be brought to people's attention for future troubleshooting issue with this type of build.

The WaveShare Game Hat I am using has a separate MicroUSB port for charging the 18650 battery you put in it. It seems that this port is NOT meant to EVER power the Pi directly under any circumstances, and cannot transfer full power from it. But because it completes the power circuit, it tries to do exactly that. To run this build on ANYTHING other than the onboard 18650 battery, the Pi's normal microUSB must be used.

Why I didn't think to test that sooner, I've no idea. I'm sure it was not suggested here by any of you who tried to help simply because you were unaware of the device's additional microUSB port - not everyone knows about this device, after all.

The good news for this is that it means I can continue to use the power bank I had been using before - it has an on/off button, allowing it to function as a switch for the Pi, and when plugged into the proper port, there is no undervolt warning and everything runs fine.

I thank you for your assistance, even though we were unable to find the specific issue with the previous board. Perhaps after I build my arcade cabinet with it, something else will come up that will lead us to solve it. But given what the cabinet will do and what kind of games were causing the lag, I don't think we'll be bumping into the issue anytime soon.

So @ExarKunIv , just update emulationstation and it now magically works?? Sweet! And no, you were not alone! I actually thought my controller was defective because it was doing this same thing over several very different builds.

@mitu Thank you for the advice, I'll do that.

    I consider this problem solved.

This is the first time I ask for help on this forum and I'm not desapointed :)

@mitu It was definitely a storage issue.

I deleted the Skyscraper cache, and it freed up over 40gb of storage!

    The issue is now gone.

    Thanks for your help!

@mitu Still the game that was able to launch can't "insert coin". I will try to set the hotkey on "globe" and see.

Edit: So as to what mitu and the others spoke of, I feel so dumb. Like I said earlier, I was able to boot into noobs just fine, and I had raspbian full installed at the same time as my retropie. I tried accessing the files for retropie that way earlier to see if I could recover my retropie or change configs or remove powerblock drivers, etc... But the issue I had was nothing showed up under the Raspbian desktop file manager earlier. I reinstalled everything after having lost it all earlier, and when I reset up my raspbian desktop just now, I got a link for retropie on the desktop. GO FIGURE, it only showed up after updating and rebooting raspbian desktop....
Since i rarely ever use the desktop os and mainly only ever use retropie, it didnt cross my mind to try updating and rebooting raspbian and see if I could access those files again. So to reiterate, as the others have mentioned if anyone ever stumbles across this and is in the boat I was in, if you're lucky enough to have raspbian installed as well as your retropi, you CAN access your retropie files and fix the mess as mitu said. Hopefully this saves someone else 6hrs+ of recovering lol.

I don't think you'll be able to update from 3.6 to 4.4 - the release is too old and the OS you're running will not support 4.4. Start with the 4.4 image from retropie.org.uk/download.
