Yes you can resize your sd card img but you need a bit of linux knowledge (gparted and truncate) to do it and a linux machine or VM.

... from what i can read on this trimode pcb, it already has a (atleast one) gamepad mode using the switch on the back?

its hard to know for me as the link to the manual dosnt work, but if thats the case, then you should be able to just switch it to "gamepad" mode and remove Xarcade2Jstick.

@mitu Just for heads up there is a switch --no-osd ;)
I should read 1st thread ... but you may wrote wrong command it's --no-osd without any blanks because the command works for me and I get rid off green messages.

Normally you should add db9_gpio_rpi (no map parameter) to /etc/modules, so the module is automatically loaded. The parameters should go in /etc/modprobe.d/db9.conf as

options db9_gpio_rpi map=1

It's because systemd updates break auto-login - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#why-emulationstation-doesnt-start-automatically-after-an-update for an explanation and solution.

Turned off OMX and everything same with arcade game videos (some of them). Tried to convert with handbrake w/o any scrift (very easy to do...and tried some different configurations) but no luck. The only option was to download .mp4 from YouTube...and works and I dont know why.

Its rare because the video was the same from the beginning I was made couple months ago and did work perfect, so its not a Skraper/XML problem...I think

EmulationStaion is on the last build 2.8.3RP

@vinz2k It depends - do you hear the audio from the video ? Do your gamelist also have empty video tags ? I think the fix should be in the 2.8.3rp version, so maybe you're experiencing another problem.

@M3th0D I was getting 15khz out of HDMI like you but i went into a hdmi to component converter, using retropie.. I came a cross this post when i was trying to work things out, and seen the runcommand , I used it but in a different way,,I got emulation station running in 480i, and retroarch running in 1600x240.. and it switches back to 480i when exiting games.

So I finally figured it out. As usual it was a couple things, but none of them were as difficult as I was looking for. Everything was a little out of date, and because I was working on wifi, i figured id let it update everything over night. Turns out I hadnt done that since enabling usbrom service. After the update it (mostly) solved my problem, and after putting the pi on stretch instead of Jessie I'm good. Thanks @Efriim for going down the rabbit hole with me. I appreciated your help

Thanks @mitu I solved my problem so no need to start a new topic. I also changed from rm/cp to the grep command to edit the existing es_settings.cfg

I did the above so I could change themes from within the retropie system whilst in Kiosk mode, also have done the same for screen ratio's and overlays :)

i confirm that modifying host name work with unsuccessfully compiled packages.

That might happen if you run out of memory. Using raspi-config to set the virtual memory GPU memory split to 256 could help, and disabling the graphics option "Retain changed textures".

Unfortunately, the problem with this game seems to be rendering gameplay, the battlefield is missing it is all black.
