@mediamogul That sorted the Channel F (with a bit of tweaking), cheers.

The Astrocade I'd already fixed, and it works fine for every game I've tried EXCEPT Space Fortress (unfortunately the best game on the system), which used to run fine but now goes at about 1fps. I tried using your .RC file instead, but the exact same thing happened.

The really freaky one is the Arcadia, though. I can get it to run no problem, right up to the point where I start any game, at which point it plays them by itself. No matter how I set the controls, the player ship will just lurch around, moving and shooting (or whatever) all on its own, regardless of whether I touch the controls or not.

But here's the REALLY wacky part.

If I boot up Pleiades on the Arcadia, it plays through the first three stages by itself. It's pretty good - it clears them all. So I wondered if I'd (somehow) recorded and then played back a previous game. But THEN, and only then, it gives me back control for the last stage (the one where you steer onto an airstrip dodging the parked ships). Keyboard and joystick both control the ship perfectly.

Once I've steered to the target and completed the stage, the Pi takes over and plays by itself again.

If anyone can explain any of THAT, I'm all ears.

@SpudsMcToole That's a pity. I've only got 4 games setup at present so haven't encountered that problem (albeit for some reason Elite simply won't work when I chain load it - I'll need to check whether it works with the run command instead).

    I'm having the same issue,
    i have 4 controllers, 2 nes(clone)(usb), 2 genesis(8bitdo)(usb wifi dongle).
they share the same name,"USB Gamepad ", vendor 0079, product 0011.
They both use "USB Gamepad .cfg"
I've been trying to get around this for a while now.

@mitu Same things happens...no folders (all, nes, snes and so on) will be copied. Nothing happens. It´s really odd. And...it´s ONLY the config folder that this happens to...all other folders seems to be copied.

@kane72 Ok I have tried that, switched to 4.3 and then attempt to launch and the Pi completely disconnects form the TV at that moment. I dunno. I'm ready to give up on this. I have made two posts and a great amount of time researching the internet for solutions with little responses either informing me that most people either just don't know or don't want to del with me on this. It is evident that some things are simple and self explanatory and other issues are much more complex and probably require an advanced knowledge of tech. I'm not sure if I would give my kids one of these things but on the flipside I have enjoyed learning the other aspects of the Pi. I will probably end up starting with a fresh copy of Retropie as all this screwing around has either erased files I have uploaded or change settings that I do not know how to fix. I do really appreciate your response .

@drago-supremo The default settings - of the RetroArch included in RetroPie - is to use and preserve the apect ratio of the emulator used, scaled to the resolution of the your output.
If you still want to change it, you can use the Runcommand launch menu (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/#runcommand-launch-menu) to set the resolution per core (emulator) or game.

Look for the .rc file at /opt/retropie/configs/mame-advmame

But be careful. Changing the .rc file is tricky and a can result in a failure to boot into advmame.

Blimey, blimey, blimey, blimey, blimey and blimey again! I swear that I'm not a paranoid schizophrenic, but I deleted the config files in /opt/retropie/configs/mame-mame4all/cfg/ rebooted a few times and the erroneous behavior was gone and my settings were not gone even though I deleted the settings files...

Now for that weird behavior from pcsx-rearmed. Maybe that will disappear itself too.

@spudsmctoole just so you know, you can put cycles as first thing under [autoexec] and remove the [cpu]. All the settings can be done this way. They just have to be before you mount the drives.

@spudsmctoole And for your autostate thing, I've faced exact the same effect that the option was activated! .... I've written a small script that will alter your retroarch.cfg as you want.

You can find it here: Dirty Little RetroArch.cfg writer

You can call the script to disable autostate_save feature like this

    $HOME/RetroPie/scripts/SetRetroArchCfg.sh "$1" "savestate_auto_save" "true" "false"

@mitu Yeah, it doesn't really fit my setup, unfortunately. Not a bad idea if I run out of ideas, though. Appreciate it.
