@dankcushions @jamesnj thanks for the replies, @jasonw how did you install your fan< did you put a hole in the case and place the fan there? and if not how did you install it because the case I will use has 2 holes/vents for airflow, one at the top and one at the bottom, so I am wondering whether the fan should go at the top or bottom vent or should it be installed into the case.

The newer versions of MAME can emulate Tamagotchi devices, but I'm not sure about Digimon. If not, new LCD games are being added all the time, so it may just be a matter of time. As far as RetroPie is concerned, running the newer versions of MAME would normally be a bad idea, as performance would be terrible. However, LCD games like these might not demand as much to run well. It'd be a great experiment. Here's an article discussing the games being added to MAME's repertoire and below is a video to see a few of them in action.

@vof Nintendo DS, possibly, but definetly not Gamecube or PS2. The latter two are fairly intensive systems to emulate, especially the PS2, and you'll almost certainly be getting very low frames per second. (very possibly <1 FPS)

Those two are really only suited for relatively beefy machines and high-end netbooks.

I knew I was doing something obviously wrong, I just didn't know what. Upon going to go copy down the names of the files, found out it was a divided archive inside the original zip, so while I unzipped the files, I did not compile them from the archive. I feel really dumb, and apologize for wasting your time. Thank you for trying to help a sad nub.

Just in case someone stumbles upon this thread while searching, I was able to fix the issue by clearing out my "Nvram" folder. Apparently it had some corrupt data in it.

Lr-snes9x has occasional slowdowns on overclocked pi’s so higan is impossible.

@echdareez Just boot up the Pi,..when it's done press Start. Choose Game collection settings. Then go to Automatic game collections. Here you can enable Favorites. It's disabled by default.

@mitu thanks for the tip! Its definitely useful info if there will be some problems with positioning image on screen, Ill save this video for later use.
Actually I found another solution for the problem:
before the game starts there is a grey info box, you can push some button and then enter a menu with additional setting. From there you can enter default video resolution submenu and play a little with setting that are stored there. I managed to fit image to the screen at 800x600 4:3 setting. It works with both psx and snes emulation. Maybe this info also would be usefull for someone.
      Thank again and good luck!

@joabro One possibility: usually ROMs are either European or American, and these regions have different video systems compatible with the TVs of their respective markets. The former games are PAL 50Hz, meaning they refresh at 50fps. The later are NTSC 60Hz and refresh at 60fps, running slightly faster. So one possibility is that if you are from an European country and are loading a set of US ROMs, you may have this perception that it’s all a bit too fast (and they are, indeed, faster than you remember). If that’s the case, I’d say stick to them as this is how the games are meant to be played. People prefer US ROMs even in Europe, so much so that even Nintendo have loaded their European mini consoles with American versions of their games.

This arcticle helped me find the right cable. The lag on a crt in minimal. Way better than the plasma.

We don't do any libretro core dev short of minor patches. You may have better luck on the libretro forums.

@drake999 If you haven't run N64 on the pi hooked up to the NesPi case, be prepared for possibly lots of voltage warnings. I'm still sorting that out and suspect bad wire gauge.

They sold you retropie illegally https://retropie.org.uk/about/legal/ . You'll have to ask the seller for support as we have no idea what they have done to it.
