@aloius we don't support 3rd party images, as outlined in the ReadMe first page. Please use rhe official Retropie image and we can offer support, otherwise contact Nachos and ask for help.

Try gpsp's non-retroarch version. With this version, you'll probably have less lag on GBA games, since it consumes less resources than the default retroarch version.

I've tested this version on a Raspberry Pi 1 B+, and I remember playing some GBA games without lag. It was on 2015, and back then, if my memory serves, there was no lr-gpsp yet.

I don't know if it'll work on your Pi Zero, but assuming Pi Zero and Pi 1 has approximately the same hardware, there's the chance that it can work.

Thx. this did the trick. I had to pull the arcade apart and plug in the network directly.

RetroPie is not a standalone OS, the image for the Raspberry Pi it's based on Raspbian Lite, so if your sound works in Raspbian, then it should work in RetroPie.
For the error message you posted (lvl10: VolumeControl::init() - Failed to attach to default card!), try changing the sound settings in Emulationstation - change the Audio device to PCM and restart Emulationstation - see if you get the same error.

@merkury187 said in video snaps and core help:

How do you enable Use Local Art? I have my videos named "romname.mp4" so I will rename them to "romname-video.mp4"

Open the Emulationstation menu with Start and try looking through the available options - I think it's in the UI sub-menu (?).

Also, so that is what that little pop up box is for, not sure how I missed that in the Docs. What does this part mean: "(the bottom face button is recommended as to not accidentally change anything) " ?

Use the A or B buttons.

@mitu said in Custom safe shutdown text / screen:

@lesk No, you'll need to edit the /etc/rc.local file and replace the 1st line (which should have been added by the RetroFlag script) with the 2nd one. Use sudo nano /etc/rc.local to edit the file.

Okay thanks! I will give this a shot ^^

@randallwoodworks On the right you have the SNES (virtual) controller buttons, on the left you have the Gamepad/Keyboard inputs. Your screenshot shows the SNES core mapping, so it might be different for arcade games, because each cabinet might have a different set of buttons.

      @rkoster

      Raph,

thank you so much for your patience and kind support. I really admire guys (of course people in general) who help others and care about things without any material or commercial background. I'll try to to my best to behave like this in the physical world (but I suppose you, too ;-))

I'll stick to your website and your posts and hope that we will hear from each other once in a while. I will keep reading about linux, the Atari Emulator scene and feel really good about what is happening these days with this bunch of possiblities I always dreamed of and which really came to life. I'm so thankful for this. At the end of the month I will visit old friends and we're having a Midimaze party (Midi Network Game for the Atari ST) like in the old days, I will present my MISTer unit and the GPI case and will tell people about your Atari graphics post for the Retropie Project.

I'll be in the country over the weekend here in Brandenburg and hope that you and your familiy will have a great weekend, too!

Again, thank you so much for everything

      Best wishes, Joern
