When I searched PSP as a gamepad RetroPie I allways saw only pages about the PSP emulators, there is also a Wi-Fi gamepad homebrew app but I only saw it working for Windoes, it is called wificontroller, it is a Linux one but you need a script on Linux, could you check if you can add it to a RetroPie setup option along with the option to start ot at boot? You only need to search psp wireless gamepad linux at google

works like a charm, im using it to play the files from http://arcade.hofle.com/ as ambiance in the menus, although instead of stopping them when executing an emu i modified teh script to drop the volume by 75% so its still there in the background while playing for a more video hall experience...

But i have modified the "template.uae" file, and added those line at the end of the file:

joyport1=joy1

joyportfriendlyname1=Xbox Gamepad (userspace driver)

Thats all!

After is modified just run the python script (adflist2uae) like is described in the link and all game will have the joystick enabled by default on port 1

In that case, my best advice is to do what I had done before I started this and fieldofcows added the OMXPlayer experiment, which is to batch convert all videos to 480x360@30fps using Handbrake or equivalent.

Works like a charm! :)

You may save yourself some time if you can somehow know beforehand which of your videos are of higher resolution, or higher fps so you don't convert all.

A note: obviously I'm biased, but I've been using my build as the main ES for the past few weeks with no real issues, so I'd be the first to recommend it :D But yes, of course there may be unforeseen problems, though it's mostly fieldofcows' code - just a few tweaks on top. If you do test it out, let us all know! Just don't use themes with overlays with the experimental player, as it doesn't support overlays on top, if that's a problem for you. :)

@pjft My code isn't up on github yet. Once it is I will post an update. Currently, the rendering order is determined by the order in which GuiComponents are added to the gamelist view (with the exception of the video component, which is specifically being inserted between the background and the extras). My implementation is pretty simplistic in that the vector of GuiComponents is sorted by z-index after the theme is applied so that the GuiComponents are in the proper order for rendering.

I did a little research into using the OpenGL depth buffer, but that approach doesn't work if want to use transparency, which most themes do.

Maybe someday... but not today. (sigh)

it must be your tv, then. libretro advanced tests is running at 60 fps, so if your tv is running at 50hz, with v-sync on you would be getting a stutter. anyone with a tv running at 60hz (which retropie does fine for me and most) should not get such an issue.

I have a Philips BDM4065UC/00 monitor, but that's a bit my point:
the default setting is 1920*1080 running at 50Hz. so If I don't realise that and change it, I get a poor performance...

before implementation in pcsx-rearmed it needs the GL pcsx plugins (i believe the PEOPS plugin in pcsx-rearmed standalone is an earlier version of Pete's) working. these will be MUCH slower on a pi than the very optimised NEON software plugin that pcsx-rearmed currently uses.

so, i don't think it would be playable on a pi. you can run a backported version of this in lr-beetle, which is libretro's mednafen psx emulator, which has a PGXP implementation. it runs v slowly on a pi, also.

I went with the 8BitDo FC30 Pro and NES30 PRO
I really like the controller, but I didn't realize it would be so small (it is actually the same spacial size as a WII PRO controller, but the buttons are smaller)

The only problem I have.. is I think games are recognizing it as 2nd Player.
I was using a PS4 controller before, and just plugged in and set up a FC30 PRO, but when I start any game up.. it won't let me hit start... yet it works perfectly in the RetroPie screen.

I think I've tried this and Steam didn't like it when EmulationStation tried to launch another process so I wasn't able to actually launch any emulators.

There might be another way to do it by manually added the Windows version of EmulationStation to Nvidia Experience search list and from your launch script you add something like -app EmulationStation (or whatever the file is actually called in Windows).

After you get moonlight install/setup and you're successfully paired with your Windows PC, you can run moonlight list on the Pi and EmulationStation will be on the list.

Did I mention I like data and statistics? Of course I could swap the graph area to a row list of games.

However I'm still having issues with a web service front end letting me have access to gamelist.xml and all the box art. Perfect would be to integrate with an existing one.
