@alton the n64 controller is a difficult one as it's not really like any other controller in terms of its button layout so hard to determine which button will do what. I believe they've mapped what's what on this site somewhere so that'll give you a good idea moving forward

Check if you have press the MODE button in the controller. If it is enable (you will see a green light) you are using left analog stick as a d-pad and the actual one doesn't work during the games.

Check also the small switch under the gamepad, it must be in the "x" position.

Okay so update. I tried to install the emulator manually, and that did not seem to work. So I updated via the Retropie Setup. I am now able to start the PS2 Emulator and I can play games via the keyboard. However the Emulator will not let me set my OG Xbox controller.

Any ideas? I am guessing there is a config file that I could edit by hand if I have to. Not so sure as to why this is giving me so many issues. Any help would be great.

I counldn't figure out how to use drastic, so I used Ir-dusume 2015 instead, which works great and is 10x easier to use.

@quicksilver I know it's a double-sided joke, but actually that game consistently crashed my Pi when overclocked - even with my currently "supposed stable overclock". I had to try out lower resolutions, otherwise after a few minutes of playing it would reboot our of the blue.

Disable threaded video on that one. It'll go back to less egregious resource consumption, and work a lot smoother (with G-Sync as well). But yes, if I recall correctly I think I left it on 720p.

@shylock since more or less every videogame supported by retropie is in 4:3, you're always going to get borders on the top and bottom (rather than the left and right that you would get with a 16:9 display. integer scaling won't make a difference.

with vertical MAME games it would be a nice fit, though: smaller borders on left and right than (un-rotated) 4:3 or 16:9 screens.

you'd also probably need to get a custom emulationstation theme done, unless someone has already done a square one, otherwise it's going to a look a little funky it think.

    no idea about the performance...

Yeah, probably, it's not that common with enterprise networks I guess. Thank you for making that clear though.

I actually solved it just now though.

For anyone wondering I managed to connect to the network on another machine (Ubuntu) and used Network Manager. I then checked the log (according to this link) with the command:

    journalctl -u NetworkManager

This gave me this config for wpa_supplicant.conf:

    country=SE ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev update_config=1 ap_scan=1 network={ ssid="Wifi-Name" scan_ssid=1 bgscan="simple:30:-65:300" key_mgmt=WPA-EAP WPA-EAP-SHA256 password="password" eap=PEAP fragment_size=1266 phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2" identity="username" proactive_key_caching=1 }

This might not work for everyone else since the configs are always different for every network. So be sure to do the same steps as I did if you can't get it to work.

So glad I finally got this, haha.

@remcomeeder Make sure kodi-vfs-nfs package is installed through apt (it is by default) and the addon is enabled in Kodi.

Yeah, just went through all 4.

Just noticed the light that turns on the ones after connecting the first one is the same that blinks during the bluetooth searching mode.

I am using a Logitech F310 and i am very satisfied with this gamepad so far. Quality is very good and the price is logical . It is working out of the box with the RetroPIe. I have test it in a Pi3B and Pi3B+ .
The only cons i have found are the loose (but very responsive) d-pad but it is not create problems during gameplay and the luck of vibration.

Before i buy this i had a cheap one and the buttons start to need extra pressure for respond after few weeks of normal use.
