      @maxmoon I don't exactly know anymore, because I no longer use the pi as a home center.

      But I had to use Drastic, because it's the only available one that supports multiple monitors.

      It then had some option in its menus, but I don't know the exact one anymore.

      I only remember that you had to boot a game with it and then press some shortcut to get into the menu of it.

      @martinrdgz before you dump your setup you may check these:

      Run wpa_supplicant manually with -d : https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/a/103442

      Maybe line ending in the wpa_supplicant.conf may be the cause (Mac -> Linux):
      https://stackoverflow.com/a/18344020

      And I noticed a space in the `psk="<space>...", is put there deliberately?

      @Jdanster said in Raspberry PI Retropie 4.8, first setting, buttons mapping issue (no encoder):

      None of the buttons is recognized, any idea why?

      Just because you wired the buttons doesn't mean they will automatically work - you'd need a driver to implement an input device based on the GPIO inputs. Something like https://github.com/mholgatem/GPIOnext or https://github.com/recalbox/mk_arcade_joystick_rpi (which is included in RetroPie, in the drivers' section).

      If you're just starting up and have limited time and beginner computer skills, I'd recommend you get an USB encoder and use it, instead of wiring the buttons to the GPIOs directly.

      @mitu

      Hey sorry for the long delay, yes it is 64bit

      I didn’t have time to look at it for a long time and got back to it, a reboot later and reinstall of retropie yealed me no errors and seem like it installed fine

      So no idea why it threw a fit the first time, anyway I love it! Very happy I came across RetroPi!

      Wiped the Install for a fresh 22.04 LTS. Following the docs very closely but will add the __platform var this time to the initial retropie-setup command.

      @Lolonois said in Emulationstation Shutdown Script Issue:

      In ES there is a menuitem Save Metadata, set it to Always. Then you should be able to hard kill ES via shutdown/reboot without losing changes to gamelists / favorites / collections.

      BAM!!!

      That worked!

      Thank you! Not sure how I never noticed that option before! Almost seems like “always” should be the default.

      @mitu Thanks,

      It was mesa 24.2.8. I downgraded with your script and my wine games run fine again in fullscreen.

      It also resolve black screen issue in lr-flycast/lf-flycast-dev on pi5.

      @Diego said in Bluetooth controllers order:

      I think I fall a bit short to answer your question but I think I can provide some more information that you may find useful. [...]

      Unfortunately the alias you added is not used for re-ordering of the controllers in emulators. I'm not sure if you can force a re-connection based on the MAC (which I assume is how the alias is associated with the controller), but that may be worth investigating - forcing a re-connect of the controller(s) just to influence the detection order and simulate an 'orderly' pairing.

      @mitu seems like I may have to settle for a middle ground then. Yes it is an interlaced image. I hate that There is no way to independently control the resolution on emulation station. Thank you for all of your assistance.

      I may continue to tinker with adjusting the resolution.
