@mediamogul When I change the controls in Sony_Computer_Entertainment_Wireless_Controller.cfg it changes the controls in games, but doesn't change the controls for the menu so I think that is good.

@mwight Seems like you messed up a lot...
Go into the retropie-setup menu and update all packages... This should reinstall the emulators
Other wise: save configs/roms and reinstall...

@auriuman78 I too, am having this exact issue. Controller is fresh out of the box. If I remove the voltage pin, I get inputs appearing on all buttons (ON) through jstest. Did you have any luck with it?

@Darksavior actually snes9x2005 is not rendering jurassic park right. SNES9x2010 is actually doing it right. That game uses a kind of a fake high res mode that renders a 640x240 image, but the snes sends out a 320x240 image. So on a CRT TV, every other line blurs together making a kind of a fake transparency. It was a trick used in a couple of game including kirbys dream land 3. The problem is that emulators don't output down to 320x240, and show the full 640x240 image with every other line as a vertical line where there is supposed to be a fake transparency. There is a shader that does the blend, but makes the games look blurry during the 320x240 parts (kirby changes back and forth based on the level) and is slow on a Pi. Snes9x 2005 just ignores it all together and just shows a 320x240 image with no transparency. Bsnes on the other hand (not on the Pi) can detect it and add the blend when needed.

@twd said in SNES Mini Classic Edition:

Apparently it's as powerfull as a wii. so no n64 mini classic on that board.

Well, looks like the Wii just got roasted.

@mrgibby yeah i think dispmanx was fixed to respect the swapchain setting, and now the following applies:

      Note on video_max_swapchain_images setting
When using the OpenGL ("gl") video driver, this setting switches between using two or three buffers for rendering. Without going into details, a setting of 3 allows the emulator to run ahead and prepare the next frame before the current one has even been shown. This improves performance (i.e. makes framerate hiccups less likely), especially on slow hardware, but increases input lag by one whole frame in the general case.
So, the general rule is to use a setting of 2 if the system can handle it. It will shave off one frame of input lag compared to the default setting of 3. Please also note that a setting of 2 forces vsync on.

i guess in this case the system couldn't handle it :(
