Yes, the default image has the Megadrive/Genesis emulator installed and configured.

@InfinityBeing I think that the problem is that ES shows all the directories that contain files with the extensions listed in es_systems.cfg.
For example my port system is configured to only show sh and SH extensions. I have several subdirectories in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports, but since none of them contains *.sh or *.SH files they do not show up. If I create a directory in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/portsand copy an .shfile into it, the directory will show in ES.
I guess that your CaveStory subdirectory contains a file with an extension listed in the port section of your es_systems.cfg. To have the directory to not show up in ES I suggest you move it to another location, and update the Cave Story shell script to point to this location.

I think he may be using RetroArch for Android and hoped for this place to be of help. However, this is a RetroPie site and not a general RetroArch site.

@mitu I ended up figuring it out (by accident), I had 2 partitions on the SD card. Even though there was only one named root it was confusing the system. I was using the image for pi 0/1 and had imaged the card with Win32DiskImager.

@mitu thanks again - it worked! it actually worked without the "" surrounding the path of the subfolder (and wouldn't work with the "").

I use openretro for images, and screenscraper for info. Then execute de "generate game list"

@mitu Off course this will work. However each time I want to change another item have to create the retroarchcfg file again. When I use a simple copy script all other settings can't be changed anymore. So each time I go to the retroarch menu and change something the retroarch.cfg gets overwritten. So using two files (one with and one without the disabled hotkey) just isn't a working solution. I really want to be able to make it independent of other changes in the file I sometimes do using the retroarch menu.
A script that edits that single line is the best solution, however I'm just not clever enough to make the script.

@navi87 It's easy - the -dev package is the development branch, where all new features/changes are added. Once in a while, this branch is promoted to stable, from where the regular emulationstation package in RetroPie is created.
So, you're trading stable for development.
