@thedatacereal If you're looking to create per-core configurations, the easiest is to do them in the RetroArch gui, then save them with Save Core Overrides. They'll be saved into the .config folder and they'll contain only the changed configuration options, much easier to read and maintain.

@qbical just so you know. As long as you dont change the name or caps/lowercase of the cue file, you can edit the inside of the cue file and naming of the bin/iso without having to restart emulationstation. The cue file and iso/bin files names dont have to match.

Oh actually I did a mistake...
For some reasons, I thought all mames were the same emulators and used a shared folders for roms (like genesis).
So mame4all wasn't showing up since there was no rom in...

I put the shooting games in the mame4all folder, now I have 2 mame menus on retropie.

The mouse is working with this games on Mame4all.

Once you create your usb with roms to copy(not as a supplemental drive) you can technically use it over and over on any Retropie system as it only copies from the USB to the sd card/drive.

That gamepad seems to already have a configuration file, see here:

Although it has only the game.controller.snes profile defined. This profiles are mainly for the RetroPlayer engine/emulators, to play games inside Kodi, which will only be officially available in Kodi 18. So try what TheDataCereal said, which is basically manual mapping one of this profiles in the Kodi interface, I also recommend using the default one.

PS1: The gamepad configuration examples on RetroPie wiki are outdated, they are for Kodi < 17. The new ones have the format like the one posted above. In your case you should be able to do everything in the Kodi user interface, no need to create/edit the xml file.
PS2: Yes, it can have spaces after the name.

The game you are linking to is Fishermans's Bait 1, this game works great on my retropie setup.
But i guess you have a good hint there.
I am sure there is a way to map the buttons for Fisherman's Bait 2 also.

I have a usb hub..powered four port. It has a separate power supply. It's a Pluggable brand has not failed me one bit. Always remember the pi has enough power to run just itself in most cases. USB sticks have leds on them..so the more leds you plug in the more power draw. (No not saying that LEDS are draining and power hungry..etc ect.) Just saying the pi powers itself..if it has to share it will not be happy.

And not all usb hubs are the same. Yo want to make sure that the hub will NOT back-power into the pi..thus causing damage or death of your pi

Thanks - but I don't think it's a Dolphinbar specific issue. I can get it to crash with just a plain old keyboard/mouse switch too.

Doing a bit of debugging work I have found if I comment out this bit of code on line 2489 of libretro.c it no longer crashes. You lose the crosshairs obviously but otherwise it works fine, so it seems that something in the crosshair generating code is related to the crash. At least now I've got an idea of where the crash is originating from, I'll see if I can debug further and once I've got some better idea of the root cause I can post the issue to the core's github repo for further discussion.

Wireless is appealing for the simple reason that's it has no wires. If I was playing on an old 28" crt that would be one thing but on a 46" led TV I want to sit back on the couch.

While there is less lag with wired, I play with PS3 controllers and haven't had any noticeable lag issues.

@chigundo As far as wired controllers go, the ibuffalo are perfect for any games not needing analog sticks or triggers (no ps1, no 64). I also recently built a picart for my girlfriend and bought her the pihut snes controllers for under $10 each because she never grew up playing games much and I wasn't sure if it would be good to invest too much. These work really well for the price though the ibuffalo and original controllers are far superior but she doesn't notice a difference not having a history or much game playing. The only real downside is a short cable. She also now loves playing frogget and the classics every night before bed to wind down so I am going to upgrade her to wireless so she can lay in bed instead of having to sit on the edge.

I thought Is was a good deal maybe I should have gone my route to begin with.
It came with about 9000 games 2 Controllers but I have seen they are only about £7 for 2 a power cable about £4 and the case which is about £4.50

I have priced one up for my son as he wants one now and it all comes to about £70 with everything in the uk

To be honest I would not want them horrible controllers anyway I use a PS3 one with mine I connected it up yesterday
