    @simpleethat said in Anyway to turn off the footer when you start a game?:

    Onscreen Notifications

    Something extra that people might find useful. I had the same problem getting rid of those notifications, but editing RetroArch via its GUI was creating havoc. I managed to achieve the same result by editing /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg

    Firstly I did this:
    Enable usage of OSD messages.
    video_font_enable = "false"

    but the secret sauce is to add this line
    menu_enable_widgets = "false"

    @gugue Just like you have .cue files, you can have .cue folders - game1.cue - and they'll show up as games in the list.

    Raph,

    thank you so much for your patience and kind support. I really admire guys (of course people in general) who help others and care about things without any material or commercial background. I'll try to to my best to behave like this in the physical world (but I suppose you, too ;-))

    I'll stick to your website and your posts and hope that we will hear from each other once in a while. I will keep reading about linux, the Atari Emulator scene and feel really good about what is happening these days with this bunch of possiblities I always dreamed of and which really came to life. I'm so thankful for this. At the end of the month I will visit old friends and we're having a Midimaze party (Midi Network Game for the Atari ST) like in the old days, I will present my MISTer unit and the GPI case and will tell people about your Atari graphics post for the Retropie Project.

    I'll be in the country over the weekend here in Brandenburg and hope that you and your familiy will have a great weekend, too!

    Again, thank you so much for everything

    Best wishes, Joern

    You can bet that most companies would rather sell you an updated game then update it for free, but you'll have a few anyhow...

    One of the first titles i see being "remastered" for an update in resolution/fps will be Skyrim...Bethesda will do anything to sell you that dying pile at least one more time.

    Mystic Mine is a Python game included in RetroPie. You can find it in the Experimental packages. I strongly recommend you to study how this game is programmed as it runs very well on the Raspberry Pi.

    The scriptmodule that installs and configures this game in RetroPie is here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/ports/mysticmine.sh

    It's private. Thanks for asking btw :) Hopefully when it's FINSIHED (still testing, making tweeks, etc), I'll upload it. It's for now, just a RPI 3B attached to a Official 7" Screen. You could probably imagine it :)

    I've just read this on the mamedev wiki... "The original controller for 720 Degrees was a joystick that was hardware-limited to only travel along the outermost edges in a circle. The internal mechanism for reading this control was similar to a spinner except that it had the additional benefit of knowing which direction the joystick was pointing. Because this knowledge is an important aspect of the game, the current emulation of the controller maps an analog joystick to the underlying controls instead of a spinner." I've never heard of this before! That would be hard to emulate. So does this mean that the system doesn't recognise when the joystick is central, so you always have to be facing in a direction for the game to work? I'm guessing you would have to set the controls in mame to allow this, but you wouldn't need to configure it as a spinner. I'm pretty sure your left right up down system would work as normal.

    @jmbooth2000 Raiden Fighters 2 sound rom was properly dumped for MAME 0.149, so having sound issues with older MAME version is to be expected.

    My systems? The post is simply asking if there is a way to add an image to a .bin file to act as a thumbnail on a selection screen. It’s not a systems related post.

    Probably ? I don't know what are the details regarding your game, but since you have developed it - you should know more about installing and running it.

    @mitu i read it but was unsure as i really dont want to scrape each emulator seperately as per ( Skyscraper -p snes -s screenscraper) suggests. also i was wondering if that same thing could be done from the graphical interface. If not what command syntax would i use to scrape all roms/emulators?

    Originally i think i used the built in scraper from emulationstation and it scraped almost all of them but this time it did barely any.

    thank you. I did not change any video modes via run command. Not even sure how to do this? I know during emulation you can make changes but I can't see the options because the screen is so zoomed in I can only see the first few options. Same for changing emulators but I may be wrong with that as well.

    I may need to switch emulators but I'm not 100% how to do this through the CLI / config menu's ATM. I'm going to take a stab at that too. Update: I was already using lr-fbalpha (NEOGEO), and tried switching to pifba but got a black screen no sound no nothing (so worse). Thinking I can update the emulator software and have better results? worth a try.

    OK I tried editing the config.txt and it didn't make a difference in the menu or the emulation.

    here is the current config.txt

    # For more options and information see # http://rpf.io/configtxtreadme # Some settings may impact device functionality. With or without vibration isn't a big thing for me. If it works great if not no biggie im more interested in replaying some of the old classics.

    We've seen reports where the controller would not start vibrating because it's not properly recognized by the OS, event if it works. I think you should consider another controller, but hey !, it's your money.
