      @polish-potato said in Keyboard won't bring up retroarch menu.:

      Edit: Only the NES emulator does that for some reason. Ah w/e it works. :)

      You might have saved manually the RA config in RGUI for the NES system, overriding some of the configuration that RetroPie sets automatically. You can check that by looking in \\retropie\configs\nes\retroarch.cfg - if it's a large file with almost all RetroArch options, then you've saved it - or reset it - from the RGUI.
      To make the keyboard and gamepads work at the same time, I think you need to have menu_unified_controls = true in the config file.

      @dwmreg you need to change the keyboard region. This setting is found under the raspi-config menu.

      @matchaman Ah, I misunderstood the concurrently part. I don't think it's possible from within the emulator, but maybe something external to combine the 2 inputs into 1 virtual gamepad (like xboxdrv ).

      @SinisterSpatula That's great indeed and I'm glad I could help. I can't wait to see the next iteration you produce.

      The advanced mapping method with case statement really works well if you have a lot of code. My arcade machine's runcommand-onstart.sh has about 4,300 lines of code for 4 arcade joysticks, a PS4 wireless controller and an 8BitDo Zero covering about 60 systems. I also use it for all of the libretro cores too now. It doesn't miss a beat, so I reckon you're going down the right path.

      Going back to my GPi vice code, with a bit more testing I'm finding that it's definitely not working for every game, so I reckon your newly produced code will be more successful than mine in "universalising" the controls for the c64. Please feel free to experiment with my code of course and make any changes you think are best.

      @JKimRX
      Is it a keyboard with a Fn key? Make sure capslock and numlock are off, some of them have a Fn lock ya know. Also retropie uses UK default so it is a good idea to change now to US using raspi-config if you use that layout.

      @thedavegray it should be the Button you configured as "a".
      It takes some time after you pressed it, the mapping is saved and that takes some seconds.

      I would recommend the standalone Fuse emulator for keyboard use. Has a lot more functionality if you don't want to just play games. Eg. Typing in code, saving things etc.

      @mitu Indeed - nothing seemed to happen. However I did already have a bunch of funky characters in the command line prompt, so perhaps those prevented the "reset" command from working.

      This is the second time it's happened to me in the last two days, so I will try to type in "reset" on a clean command line prompt the next time it occurs (although it didn't seem to work for the previous poster and his issue is a carbon copy of mine).

      @leitmotiv said in No retroarch for TI/99?:

      Anyone know a workaround, or if ti99sim will eventually use Retroarch?

      That's up to the emulator author to decide or another developer that can contribute the necessary code to the Libretro project. The RetroPie project bundles the emulators, but does not develop them.
