    @darkpaladin said in RPi4 dual screen with touchscreen:

    The immediate issue I have is with the FKMS driver. The Waveshare touchscreen requires me to disable the FKMS driver and use its own configuration, especially since I want to rotate 90 degrees. But if I disable the FKMS driver, RetroPie runs into the SDL/EGL error and will not load the GUI.

    On the PI4, disabling the (f)kms overlay/driver will result in an unsupported configuration, with any GPU drivers disabled. You won't be able to use RetroPie with it.

    Is there a different driver I should try loading, or do I need to submit a feature request and wait?

    No, there isn't. Not sure why the Waveshare screen needs the standard Pi4 GPU drivers disabled - maybe because of rotation support ? In any case, using both screens will require X11/X.org running, at which point you may be able to rotate the display/screens using xrandr/arandr. It's not a supported configuration for RetroPie, but it may help you using both screens at the same tie.

    Okay, I hadn't noticed that setting before, don't know how I missed that. Only problem is I'm dealing with a spinner on one particular machine, so I don't have mouse buttons (left/right click). Switching to this setting disables the joystick and buttons meaning I lose almost all functionality.

    Is there a way I can create a remap file that assigns button0 and button1 on my arcade controller as left and right click. Maybe also enable two other buttons (or even the joystick) to act as mouse up/down (y-axis +/-)?

    Thanks man. It was buried in Auto-favorites.

    @mitu Yeah I figured that after. I think I couldn't run any commands, so I plugged it out.

    I think I was testing to see if the hub worked on USB 2.0 a little bit before the error occured, so I've kept it in a USB 3.0 port. I've been testing for a while now and there don't seem to be any issues anymore. Hopefully, the problem won't come up again.

    @clyde not for clrmame. I was thinking for setting up romsets to mame versions on RetroPie. Its probably done already, I just never checked.

    I found that I have to press 'Tab' to enter the the settings on the arace board itself which has a 'rotate' option! Great!
    Now I just need to know how to do a 'Tab' with my Playstation DS4 controller!

    @sleve_mcdichael yep, that did the trick, I located the .rmp and the permissions were set to [root] so I changed to [pi]. It works now, thanks.

    @emulatre71

    From the RetroPie Docs for the lr-flycast :

    Accepted File Extensions: .cdi .chd .gdi for Dreamcast ROMs, .zip for Naomi/Atomiswave games.

    Check also the hash of your bios file, it must be the same with the one in the RetroPie Docs.

    Got it working, if anyone else is interested in using this bezel pack, I combined the bezel and crt overlays for each game into one image using gimp, exported that as mslug.png and then I made a .cfg file and named that mslug.cfg . Put both files in the opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/overlays folder. Make sure you name both the .png and .cfg files the same for each game.

    My cfg file looks like

    overlays = 1

    overlay0_overlay = mslug.png

    overlay0_full_screen = true

    overlay0_descs = 0

    @mitu said in Add folder contents to custom collection?:

    Custom collections support only individual files. You can however list the folder and add the full path of each file to the collection's .cfg file - the file is just a list of paths.

    Thanks @mitu for confirming. I'll dump pipe the folder contents to a txt file and copy/paste. I was just hoping that there was a more dynamic way of doing it so Ian drop new roms in and have the collection pick them up automatically.

    Marked as solved.

    @craggus2000 Thanks for reporting back. Have fun. Please edit your first post and add in the something like [solved], so it is more likely to be picked up by search engines.

    Your question made me updating my hint from last year on that topic.

    @sleve_mcdichael said in 32x Game Titles showing rom symbols after scraping:

    Are you running SS through the setup script or from the command-line? If script, do you have generate options >> remove bracket info (enabled)? (This is global, but maybe if 32x is the only system you've scraped since it changed or something.)

    Beyond that, the contents of your /home/pi/.skyscraper/config.ini file might shed some light on what's happening. You can post it here if you can't make sense of it.

    ``` Use code blocks (start and end with three backticks on a new line) so special symbols aren't interpreted as formatting. _*[{}]*_ Or upload it to (edit:spelling) pastebin.com if it's very long. ```
    Yep toggling that option on solved it. Thanks!
    @folly IWill do. I've spent the last couple of days mostly wading through over 1000 Atom files just called 1, 2, 3, 4 etc, which actually turned out to be Retropie-compatible DSK files, just figuring out what they all were. (I'm about 30% done.) Once I've identified the games and got their controls configured I'll upload the configs.
    @fadangalini to be honest manually changing the files is not recommended. you should bind your default during https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/#configure-controllers, then any overrides for specific consoles via https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#core-input-remapping
    /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg is here:
    https://pastebin.com/embed_iframe/YyUgG611
    this isn't a verbose log.
    I've been meaning to post this for some time now, but the pandemic and other things in life sidetracked me. But, I made a bit of positive progress getting the controller to work with Spy Hunter and wanted to share some of the info (hopefully I'll remember things correctly!).
    I found some info indicating that the lr-mame2003-plus emulator had better support for analog controllers than lr-mame2003, so I switched to use that:
    Screenshot from 2021-04-05 12-20-40.png
    Once in Emulationstation, I enabled the X-INPUT mode of the steering wheel, and it was detected as a "CHIPUNION USB RACING WHEEL"
    Screenshot from 2021-04-05 12-39-15.png
    Then, within the Retroarch configuration menus, there were now options for the axis configuration (+ and -) involved with the gas and brake pedals, and steering wheel (paddle):
    Screenshot from 2021-04-04 15-38-25.png
    I then tried playing a few games, and found the acceleration of Spy Hunter's car was a bit sluggish. I adjusted some of the sensitivity settings for the gas and brake pedals, and the steering wheel (paddle):
    Screenshot from 2021-04-04 15-39-42.png
    Though not perfect, it made the gameplay good enough that I got through the initial round of cars, got the oil and smoke defenses, and almost made it to what I think would have been the motorboat segment of the game.
    If I make any other headway, with either Spy Hunter or other steering wheel games, I'll try to post back here with an update.
    @sirhenrythe5th Hmm... It's been more than a few days, but when I update RetroArch, all I get is 1.9.5. Am I doing something wrong?
