    @SeraphisCain Thanks - there is a gamelist there, but the titles on it are not the ones affected by the issue. There are only a handful of titles and there's no metadata defined. A red herring, I'm afraid.

    I appreciate your help, but I'm ready to give up. I don't think it's going to get worked out.

    Thanks anyway.

    I tried to do it. It's too fast ! When I define up / down / left / right, I've each time one key which is detected by another. For exemple : the hatari asks for up, I move up the joystick, it detects the up and quickly passes to down and also detect the up.... is this any file to configure from ssh ?

    As a post-mortem, it looks like everybody ignored my "recycle bin" question probably because it was "too stupid to ask," but I think answering the question would've connected the dots together.

    For what it's worth, I didn't know 100% for sure the answer to this, although I had a good idea. A simple google search of "does linux have recycle bin" turned up a couple of easy fast answers. The answer is from a command line, no there isn't one. Many desktop distros do present a "trash" container that you do need to empty.

    Please try to be patient while you are receiving free remote tech support like this. We want to help you succeed, but it is harder when we can't sit down at the console in person.

    @ScoobyAA Slightly late reply. I have only just come back to this project. I finally have TwisterOS running well and Retropie does work. However, even using controller keymapping software I cannot use those controllers. This issue is clearly much deeper than just retropie because no software recognises the left and right arrow keys, unfortunately. I really appreciate all of the help from the forum though. Thanks!

    We don't support 3rd party images. Use the Pi4 image from retropie.org.uk/download and it will work.

    @ReadyPlayaWon said in .mu3 multidisc PSX does not work:

    it needs to be .m3u ... not .mu3

    I think that was just a typo, the screenshot shows the file as .m3u and the file is also listed in the EmulationStation's gamelist (so the extension is picked up).

    @neogeo1981 - can you double check the extension of your .cd1/.cd2 files and make sure there's not a .cue present ? The OS might hide the extension and this might explain why they still show up in the list.

    I've seen this on one of the megadrive/genesis emulators. The reports indicate it is related to the widgets that appear in the lower left corner during startup.

    I've been able to get going by pressing hotkey + B to simply reset the game. Always seems to work the after that.

    @melbmatt50 i did - both links are instructions for “headless” (no screen) set ups. you just need to plug your sd card into the pc you used to the write the image and create files in the /boot/ partition.

  • G&W : how to remap keys ?

    From what I see, Egg has the 4 control buttons mapped like this:

    1 (RetroPad Dpad-Up) 3 (RetroPad B) 2 (RetroPad Dpad-Up) 4 (RetroPad X)

    To re-map them to other buttons, you need to have to have something like this in the system's retroarch.cfg

    input_remapping_directory = "/opt/retropie/configs/gameandwatch/" input_player1_up = "w" input_player1_down = "a" input_player1_b = "s" input_player1_x = "d" #include "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg"

    In the example above, I remapped all buttons to WASD on the keyboard and it seems to work fine. I think RetroPad L (left shoulder) and RetroPad R (right shoulder) are used for the Game A/Game B selection, if you wish to remap those.

    Since this is a specific game config, you can add the input_... options in a special ROMNAME.cfg file next to the .mgw file and the input configuration will be automatically applied, only for that ROM - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#example-per-rom-override-retroarchcfg.

    Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

    Are you running RetroPie from the Raspbian desktop ?

    @mitu said in Can't exit game in MAME:

    @Rhees
    Look at the Runcommand start message - it will tell you what emulator it's starting.

    EDIT:
    Also try

    input_enable_hotkey = 8 input_exit_emulator = 9

    You don't really have a gamepad, but a keyboard, so the _btn might be extra. Where have you added these settings ?

    MAME4ALL Alternate Fix: I battled this issue for a few days before I found a fix that worked on my system (RPi 3B) when the solutions above didn't work.

    With both Joypad/Controller and Keyboard plugged in to RasPi...

    start a game that uses MAME4ALL press TAB on keyboard once game starts (brings up User Interface menu) use keyboard arrow keys and ENTER to... select "Input (general)" arrow down to "UI Cancel" - this is the exit game command ENTER (waits for button to map) (on Joypad/Controller) press and hold both your the buttons you have already mapped for enable_hotkey and exit_emulator. Note: I don't think you have to use those specific buttons, it just keeps it consistent with your other games and systems I hit enter again on the UI Cancel line and hit the ESC button on the keyboard to make sure both the joypad combo and esc still worked to exit. arrow key up or down to "Return to Main Menu" arrow key down to "Return to Game"

    You can use this method to map the other UI controls (UI Up, Down, Left, Right, Select) so you can navigate the UI without a keyboard in the future. It's a good idea to set a two-button combo to bring up the UI menu (Config Menu is the first line of the Input - General menu).

    Later I found this video that walked through the steps:
