      @lilbud Try going into the Retropie Setup and manually turning on the USB ROM service and reboot. (You may have already, but it doesn't hurt to try it again.)

      @Jeck11 I haven't messed with Bluetooth controllers yet, but when I do a Playstation controller will be one that I pick up. Apparently they're a lot more reliable than they used to be, thanks to software improvements.

      So just to confirm, this is still not working?

      I have the same exact setup and the issue I am having is my button mapping changes for player 1 but not player 2. Player 2 is working perfect.

      The config file is accurate and the lsusb command shows them both:

      Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0079:0006 DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick
      Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0079:0006 DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick

      My config file is there too:

      /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads

      DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick .cfg

      input_device = "DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick "
      input_driver = "udev"
      input_l_btn = "2"
      input_load_state_btn = "2"
      input_start_btn = "8"
      input_exit_emulator_btn = "8"
      input_up_axis = "-3"
      input_a_btn = "5"
      input_b_btn = "4"
      input_reset_btn = "4"
      input_down_axis = "+3"
      input_r_btn = "6"
      input_save_state_btn = "6"
      input_r2_btn = "7"
      input_right_axis = "+0"
      input_state_slot_increase_axis = "+0"
      input_x_btn = "1"
      input_menu_toggle_btn = "1"
      input_select_btn = "9"
      input_enable_hotkey_btn = "9"
      input_y_btn = "0"
      input_left_axis = "-0"
      input_state_slot_decrease_axis = "-0"
      input_l2_btn = "3"

      Any thoughts?

      @Danorak1981 said in Converting Genesis and Super Famicom Controllers to USB:

      Is there any reason that I wouldn't be able to solder a female USB to the Raphnet board in order to fit it flush inside the SNES pad?

      You should absolutely be able to do that.

      I went with the 8BitDo FC30 Pro and NES30 PRO
      I really like the controller, but I didn't realize it would be so small (it is actually the same spacial size as a WII PRO controller, but the buttons are smaller)

      The only problem I have.. is I think games are recognizing it as 2nd Player.
      I was using a PS4 controller before, and just plugged in and set up a FC30 PRO, but when I start any game up.. it won't let me hit start... yet it works perfectly in the RetroPie screen.

      You can add more ports with a USB hub.

      @geneworld that is only for the nunchuck. Even if it were to work on the nes classic controller only two of the four buttons would work. But im pretty sure none of them will work

      The steps described in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/53840 worked for me to reduce input lag on the SNES30/SN30. I'm looking for a way to make the changes permanent.

      @herb_fargus As posted above, I had tried both the automatic and manual methods with neither of them working. I managed to get it sorted out now though because it seemed like there was a permissions issue that would not allow me to run the RetroPie script from the USB pen from within OSMC.

      I ended up keeping all data and scripts on the SD card and mounting the roms folder to the USB drive and having it work that way.

      @buzzyc some hubs work right and some dont. I did a gameboy zero with an all in one-ish board and the usb hub built on the board reads the built in on board controller fine and the usb reads my wireless mini usb/trackball mouse. But it wont recognize my wireless n adapter and my full size keyboard crashes it. But in my arcade block mini genesis usb hub and the rockband hub i can run everything just fine. Mostly. On my rockband hubs if i have to set up wifi i need to remove everything but the wifi and the keyboard otherwise it takes like thirty tries to get the pi zero to accept the wifi key. Havent tested that on my genesis usb hub

      @RandoCalrisian sorry. I wish I wish I knew more about the firmware. My IPAC4 device is an older version that uses a PS/2 to USB converter and it does not get recognized as a game pad at all. It's my understanding that this issue affects only the newer versions of these devices. I hate to send people to Andy for support every time, but as far as I know, he has been the only source cited by people who have obtained the replacement firmware. However, perhaps he has now incorporated it into the utility available online.

      @markyh444 There have been one or two occasions I thought I might be able to save a hard working developer/mod a couple of minutes, but I'm way too nervous to do it!! Believe me, plenty of play and learning to do yet;))
