I had that problem try remapping your controls in retro arch I had to hold the right trigger down for the control to work I retro arch till I re mapped.

Also try Installing the xpadneo drivers seems to work for me I then have to update the xpad drivers for wired my after glow wired controller to work

Sometimes my X-Arcade Tankstick will freak out in the RetroPie menu, but never in games. By "freak out" I mean "receive inputs as if holding UP or DOWN" until I make some input. It's annoying, but not deal-breaking so I just live with it. :( I know that's not helping your situation; it's just letting you know that you're not making a simple mistake. (Or maybe we both are.) Or maybe the controller drivers are wonky.

@WishItWas1984 I can completely respect the desire for ultimate nostalgia. I personally love the nostalgia but I have made some concessions for some modernization. At the end of the day as long as you can make it serve your purpose and you're go happy, game on!

I ran that and the tvs preferred res is group 1 mode 4 changed it in config.txt to that setting still nothing

I manage to solve the problem by deleting the retroarch.cfg file from the n64 config folder and accessing the games again

@retrotinkerer Wii games will not run on a pi. You'll need much more powerful hardware for that.

@mitu problem solved! Saving the core config was the game changer. I still get the "controller not configured" message, but now it works :)

@antoine8168 So it's not changing the resolution, just scaling the output. Maybe the the X.org server doesn't know how to scale the ES window, since it's an OpenGL application.

I had a feeling that would be the case. I'll see if I can get the compatibility list updated and wait for Pi4.

Just to confirm that it isn't the ROM has anyone else managed to replicate this or got the game to run properly on a different emulation setup?

[edit] Panzer Front works just fine on the latest update of Reicast.

@moltke44 I think you've been bitten by this change in Win10 which disables the guest browsing of shares, specifically for Enterprise and Educational versions of the OS. That's why for me (Win 10 Professional) still works, but not for you.
You can try the workaround described here, which I wouldn't recommend, especially if your computer is domain managed and there are security policies in place. Another option is to disable guest access in the RetroPie file sharing service (Samba), but that's a little more involved and it's not so straightforward.
