Just to wrap-up this post.

I've built a prototype (image bellow) and I'm trying to see if everything is correctly positioned and usable. I end up using just a hotkey instead of dedicated admin buttons.

I'll open a new post to discuss it in the relevant area.

The .cfg is written when emulator starts based on the device detection order. Plug in first the Logitech controller and then the other 2 SNES clones and see if it that puts the Logitech controller as Player 1.

I know another user made it work by installing the newer driver on the RetroPie image (see here).

For pairing, the 1st pairing option should always work, there's no need to try the other options. After it's paired, can you run

cat /proc/bus/input/devices

and post the output ? It should show if the gamepad is detected as an input device.

@RetroFloppy08 Another update: Added two more lines to the script so EmulationStation reboots itself.

@mitu I agree, it should, but it doesn't. None of the buttons do anything. It's using the default button mappings that work fine for all my other 32X games, nothing different.

[EDIT] Ah, there was a Picodrive update available, that sorted it.

Tinkered the whole weekend without any success.
I can activate crosshair when i choose "show lightgun options" in Retroarch but whatever i select (White, Red, .. ) it does not show up.
Also i can bind the controls to whatever, does not move an inch.

With Dreamcast Games it does work, but not with Naomi, i guess it is not possible and thats it.
Waiting for furher updates;)

@mitu Thanks! It worked. I didn't have to re-install the lr-beetle-Saturn emulator, but rather run an update after deleting the config file. thanks!

I don't understand what you're asking exactly. As I said... just set the control to 3DO Lightgun. That enables the 3DO Lightgun controller which is emulated via the mouse. It's not really any different from any other core.

This is the emulation driver for this game in old mame codebase, updating it means being a programmer.

EmulationStation checks if the file exists on disk before adding it to the list, but it still reads from the gamelist.xml.

You can output the game name and the path at the same time and then read the output in a script that would check if the path is still valid before printing the game. Here's a command that outputs a tab separated list of game path values.

xmlstarlet sel -t -m '//game' -v 'name' -o $'\t' -v 'path' -n gamelist.xml

@exitkioskmode you may have messed up things that may be too difficult to fix. That fix is from 2016, and may cause bigger issues on a newer os. Might be easier to start over with a fresh install.
