@mitu I checked out those points you recommended and they all seem fine. Im going to seem like total idiot now.. Everything else was fine but I just had to update the retropie setup. Then I updated the emulator again. I updated everything not too long time ago so I had no idea it could be that. I even uninstalled and re-installed the psx emulator and updated it before doing this. Now im wiser and can potentially help some other people in the future.

I really appreciate your help, it pushed me to right direction.

Hi. I agree that sometimes taking a step back can help.

I don't know what you have referred to in the past, or what guides you have read, so I post this in case its helpful.

The Retropie Docs offer some good guidance (link below), the bits on testing mouse inputs and determining mice index numbers might help.

Have you installed the gunconf utility? It could be the gun calibration that is the issue. this also lets you test the gun.

@kfleischmann This seems like a custom build - not something standard in a RetroPie installation. Check the onstart/onend script, they might have something to do with it - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/#runcommand-onstart-and-runcommand-onend-scripts.

If your Xbox One controller supports Bluetooth, you don't need a wireless adapter. I think newer models (after 1708 ?) have Bluetooth by default, but you can check your controller model for BT support.

Perhaps it's an incompatibility issue related with Ubuntu x64 19.04, will try experiment a bit more, but I'm glad at least it works on the RPi, hopefully someday this code will be added into retropie script since the upstream version has a higher games compatibility than old stella 2014

Thanks so much! That does look like it might be what I'm after, but I still can't see to get it to work quite right. I have tried it a few different ways, but the code is not displaying properly. Can you upload links to the two XML files you reference in the other thread so I can see you're work-flow (and will help discover where I'm going wrong)

A fresh image will have only RetroPie, no ROMs are included in the image. You'll have to back them up if you like to keep your existing files.

@Davedrumx I know this is quite old topic but I believe the thing you are.. or atleast were looking for is SBI Files for certain PS1 Pal games. They can be downloaded from psxdatacenter and possibly from other places too like internet archive.

The advanced mapping method with case statement really works well if you have a lot of code. My arcade machine's runcommand-onstart.sh has about 4,300 lines of code for 4 arcade joysticks, a PS4 wireless controller and an 8BitDo Zero covering about 60 systems. I also use it for all of the libretro cores too now. It doesn't miss a beat, so I reckon you're going down the right path.

Going back to my GPi vice code, with a bit more testing I'm finding that it's definitely not working for every game, so I reckon your newly produced code will be more successful than mine in "universalising" the controls for the c64. Please feel free to experiment with my code of course and make any changes you think are best.

After downgrading the kernel to 1.20190401-1, I tried to run RetroPie-Setup which upgraded the kernel to 1.20190517-1. Now the overscan settings still apply to both console and ES. I don't know if this is because of the downgrade-upgrade procedure, or because of the changes I made to /boot/config.txt. Anyway I paste here the relevant settings I have in the file:

disable_overscan=1 overscan_left=20 overscan_right=20 overscan_top=11 overscan_bottom=11 overscan_scale=1

In Raspi-Config, Select Advanced, Overscan and then Disable. That should allow your GUI to extend to the edges of your screen. if it's still not to your liking you'll need to change the Overscan value in Config.txt in the /boot partition on your MicroSD card.

There aren't many solutions out there and it seems this solution not only breaks other audio outputs but also is unusable due to the lag. I'm almost certain the Pi dosen't have enough horsepower to emulate games and stream bluetooth audio, as per the tutorial above I have completely removed it and I recommend that you should too. Let me know how you get on and if you find an alternative that doesn't stutter.
